The battleship remained ungodly massive. The Awakener was pretty sure he was never going to get used to this – but then he figured he wouldn't exactly be staying here that much longer. Whatever ship the Aerolith would be allowed to take to get them to sector seventeen would, he was fairly sure, have to be a good deal smaller than this one. And less intimidatingly grandiose – the occasional piece of seditious graffiti in brown or yellow or red kind of took away from the imposing facade, but in some ways that just drew more attention to what exactly this spacecraft was, and how bizarre it was to see it repurposed like this.
Still, it wasn't like that was disheartening or anything. And, despite certain points of uncertainty, the sheer overwhelming ridiculousness of everything that had happened since he'd been picked up by Starfall was enough that the Awakener didn't find it particularly hard to make sure he was smiling as he entered the mess. Smiling at people was what they tended to expect, even if all it got him at first was a few suspicious frowns.
Ostensibly he was there to get something to eat – and that was definitely on his agenda, but he was also particularly keen to talk to more of the rebels so he could get a better idea of what this was all about.
